Menstruation is a time for cozy, grounding meals that help replenish what your body is losing. This beef & sweet potato stew is packed with iron, zinc, and warming spices to support hormone balance and energy. Plus, the sweet potatoes offer complex carbs that help with mood and blood sugar balance.
Serves: 3-4
Ingredients:
- 1 lb grass-fed beef stew meat (or chuck roast), cut into cubes
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp thyme
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- 2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled + cubed
- 3 cups beef broth
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (optional for digestion)
- Salt + pepper to taste
- Optional: kale, parsley, or bone broth upgrade

Instructions:
- Heat oil in a pot. Brown beef on all sides (work in batches if needed).
- Set beef aside. In same pot, sauté onion + garlic for 2–3 mins.
- Stir in tomato paste and spices. Toast briefly.
- Return beef to pot. Add sweet potatoes and broth.
- Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover, and simmer 45–60 mins.
- Adjust seasoning. Serve warm and savor slowly.
