Protein Hot Chocolate

Benefit: Supports sweet cravings, boosts protein + magnesium
Phase: Luteal or Menstrual

This cozy cup of protein hot chocolate is your new favorite luteal or PMS ritual. It satisfies that chocolate craving while sneaking in nourishing protein and magnesium to support your mood and muscle tension.

Serves: 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 scoop of any chocolate protein powder
  • 8–10 oz hot milk of choice (I love Silk Protein Almond milk)
    OR
  • Any liquid chocolate protein shake of your choice (Premier Protein Chocolate and the Cookies ‘N Cream are my favorites!)
  • Optional:
    • Dash of cinnamon and/or nutmeg
    • Whip cream of choice
      (I love coconut whip cream or regular sugar free whip cream)

Instructions:

  1. Warm milk on the stove or in the microwave until steamy.
    *If using a protein shake, simply pour into cup and put in the microwave for ~1 min)
  2. Stir or froth in protein powder until dissolved and creamy.
  3. Pour into a mug, top with whip
  4. Sprinkle cinnamon and/or nutmeg and enjoy slowly.
