Slowing Down for To Do More
Like so many women, I was running on empty. Always pushing harder, chasing goals, and beating myself up when I couldn’t “keep up”. Like most of you, I found that I only had 3-5 “good” days out of the month, in which I was able to stay on track with what I had planned for those handful of days. While those days felt great in the moment, afterwards I found that I exhausted since I tried to do a month’s worth of work in those handful of days.
I felt inconsistent, emotional, and behind… every. single. month. I would lose 3 lbs, then gain 5+ lbs…I felt completely powerless to cravings, could barely show up to work 2 weeks out of the month… And those 5 lbs I gained during my period didn’t just go away, like so many content creators said it would… I knew without a doubt that there was something wrong with me. This couldn’t possibly be normal…
Then I stumbled across cycle syncing. Not in some grand, perfect way — just small steps. I decided to add 1 intentional ingredient to every meal. And then decided I would only do 30 min walks during my menstrual phase when body felt up to it… and not feel guilty about opting out of the walk if my body needed rest…nor did I allow myself to feel guilty doing something so light. I often wanted to force myself to do more and just push through because “What the hell is a 30 min walk going to do?”.
But the more that I listened to what my body needed, the more I found consistency and a sense of calmness.

Cycle syncing changed everything. And guess what? I’m still learning. I’m not some superwoman with perfect routines or flawless hormone charts. At this moment in time, I don’t even take my temperature on a daily basis like some women do (which is phenomenal and I greatly admire there dedication!)
But I’ve found peace. And most importantly, a rhythm that actually works for me. Keep in mind I love being a busy bee and want to accomplish quite a bit throughout the month. But slowing down and trusting my body allowed me to not only be more productive and consistent…it allowed me to trust myself.
