Why I’m Returning to Cycle Syncing (and Letting Go of the Guilt)

When you stop listening to your body, it will find a way to speak louder.

I’ll be honest.

I didn’t mean to stop.

I never fully quit cycle syncing — but somewhere along the way, I drifted.

At first, I stopped tracking my meals. Then I decided that switching in a sweet potato instead of a regular potato during my luteal phase was no big deal… and you know what? It wasn’t — at first.

But slowly, I started letting more little things slide. I stopped prioritizing protein. I began craving simple carbs and gave in. I told myself I’d reset next week…that week never came.

Then the Symptoms Came Back

And like a quiet warning that turned into a shout, things began to shift.

  • My period, which had shortened to 3–4 days, stretched back to 6–7.
  • My cravings and cramps came back stronger.
  • The fatigue I used to manage became unbearable.
  • PMDD returned like an unwelcome visitor I thought I’d outgrown.
  • What used to be a gentle rest day turned into a full week in bed.
  • Low energy… brain fog… guilt… rinse and repeat.

And then came the internal monologue:

“You were doing so well… what happened?”

“Why can’t you stay consistent?”

“You should be further along by now.”

But here’s what I’m learning — and what I want to share with you:

This is part of the cycle, too.

It’s Not a Checklist. It’s a Relationship.

Cycle syncing isn’t some rigid routine.

It’s a relationship — one that ebbs and flows, just like our hormones do.

So no, I didn’t fail. I strayed. Life got loud. Stress crept in. Convenience began to replace intention.

But instead of guilt-tripping myself, I’m choosing to return to what makes me feel good. To what anchors me in my body. To what brings me peace.

I’m choosing to come back to:

💗 Listening to what phase I’m in

💗 Building my meals around nourishment, not restriction

💗 Saying yes to magnesium, warm veggies, omega-3s, and everything my body truly needs

💗 Syncing my workouts with my energy

💗 Letting rest be rest

You Don’t Have to Start Over. You Just Have to Continue.

If you’ve been feeling off — if your period has changed, your emotions feel unpredictable, your energy crashes harder than usual — you’re not alone.

Maybe, like me, your body is calling you back.

Or maybe your cycle hasn’t changed at all — it’s always felt disharmonious.

Either way: this is your sign.

Whether this is your first time hearing about cycle syncing, or just a gentle nudge to return — let’s come back together.
